Please e-mail all questions to akm.ahsan@iowadot.us before the question cutoff deadline The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Tower deconstruction and removal (Tower removal, Labor/Mobilization, Crane, Lift Rental) at 209 Pollock Blvd., Bedford IA, (40-40-43.5 N / 094-43-06.4 W). Scope: Labor and equipment necessary to deconstruct tower at 209 Pollock Blvd., Bedford IA, (40-40-43.5 N / 094-43-06.4 W). Removal of all antennas, antenna mounts and cabling. This includes the safety fall cable. The safety cable must be preserved as part of the tower equipment. All antennas, mounts and cabling to be disposed of by the tower company.
Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Estimated start date -Upon issuance of award (The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date- 06-30-2024 (This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). NOTE: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking into consideration winter weather conditions. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #9. Contractor is required to provide all materials, equipment and labor for the deconstruction of tower as per plans/specifications outlined on the Line-Item tab.
