Saving Project...

Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Monroe, Michigan. Completed plans call for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The County of Monroe is accepting proposals for the removal of concrete flatwork and sections of sidewalks around municipal buildings, sidewalks around employee/visitor parking lots, concrete curb sections and the area around parking lot storm water drain aprons. The surface areas have deteriorated and are in need of repairs that involve replacement. The work locations are both within the City of Monroe and at other County owned properties within Monroe County. The work is to be priced on a per location basis with a grand total as outlined on the Proposal Form. The site location totals will be for the concrete removal, disposal, supply the new concrete, place the new concrete and finish the surface. The address, location, and approximate size of each site is included on the Proposal Form. We include maps and some select photos showing the sites to assist in properly identifying each. Each area is also marked with traffic paint to highlight the specific work areas. This solicitation is not a commitment to procure the work, but a request for proposals and the costs to complete the work. The County will make a determination to proceed based on the proposal pricing submitted. The County is flexible in the schedule to complete the work and the work may be scheduled over several weeks or months as mutually agreeable. We also include an alternate pricing section in the Proposal Form to provide a unit price for other work should the County decide to purchase additional work from the selected contractor. This option is the exclusive choice of the County whether to procure additional concrete work from the contractor. The successful contractor will be required to perform all services as outlined in the Scope of Work section of this Request for Proposal. The cost of all labor, material, equipment, tools, forms, supervision, etc shall be included in the proposal cost pricing. Only proposals submitted using the Proposal Form provided will be accepted as a qualified response. All new work shall be identical to existing, including finished edge, width, thickness, finish, etc. Remove existing concrete in areas where directed, identified and marked by the County. Remove all debris and old concrete off site and properly dispose of all materials. Provide and install forms for concrete. Forms shall be secured, properly staked to hold the concrete and straight where a straight edge is required or a uniform radius where called for to match a specific layout by the County. Place and finish 6 bag mix concrete, air entrained and batched for this type of installation. Include fiber mesh mixed into the concrete unless otherwise specified by the County to install welded wire mesh reinforcing. Limit the amount of water added to the batch at the site to maintain concrete strength and only enough water to place and form the concrete. Keep distance from the batch plant to the job site as limited as possible. Finish the concrete to match existing. Install 1/2 " or 3/8" steel dowel pins (6" concrete or 4" concrete thickness) between existing concrete and new concrete to hold together and prevent lifting of slabs at the new and old joint lines in any vehicle drive areas. Project includes collars around parking lot storm water catch basin structures Seal new concrete with cure and seal commercial product sealant for concrete Remove forms, clean up site and remove all debris Prevent concrete from spilling over onto adjoining surfaces. Clean to satisfaction of County if this occurs. Protect concrete from pedestrian traffic with barricades until hardened to prevent impressions or scuffing and for 7 days from vehicles where needed and traffic crosses concrete Provide pricing based on the above general work requirements at each site where included on the Proposal Form. Additionally, provide unit pricing based on the above general work requirements at each site where included on the Proposal Form. Addenda and Supplements to RFP In the event of changes in the RFP, contractors will be notified in writing. Questions concerning the proposal submittal, award and administration of the contract should be directed to: Joshua Thomas or Michael Bosanac 125 E.
