Site work for a mixed-use development in Kelowna, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The Work can be briefly summarized as follows: Flood Protection Improvements: Creek Channel Widening: Increase the creek's floodwater conveyance capacity by widening the channel. Construction of Earthen Berms: Erect berms to contain floodwaters. These berms will be topped with access paths for pedestrians and authorized vehicles, enhancing site accessibility. Environmental Enhancements: Instream Riffle Construction: Create or enhance fish habitat through the strategic placement of gravels and cobbles to form riffles. Shoreline and Streambed Armouring: Stabilize banks and beds with cobbles to prevent erosion and protect vital spawning gravels. Riparian Area Planting and Maintenance: Enhance the riparian landscape adjacent to water bodies through planting and a three-year maintenance program. This program is scheduled within an optimal planting window to ensure plant establishment and growth.
