The University of Northern Colorado's College of Osteopathic Medicine provides a transformative education in an environment that encourages collaboration, mentorship, and personal growth, inspiring our students to become highly skilled and caring physicians who in turn will positively impact the lives of patients and the communities they serve. The primary objectives for the College of Medicine are as follows: To increase the supply of primary care physicians to serve the state. To leverage synergies among existing Health Sciences programs to enhance the osteopathic medicine curriculum. To improve the health status of citizens in Northern Colorado and the region. The proposed site for the new College of Osteopathic Medicine is on the corner of 20th Street and 11th Ave, at the former K-12 laboratory school, Bishop Lehr. The building has been minimally utilized for almost two decades and is prime for redevelopment. The structure is unfortunately not suitable for rehabilitation as a teaching or learning environment and will be demolished as part of the project. The new COM will offer students a state-of-the-art facility for medical education, including dedicated spaces for Anatomy, Osteopathic Manual Manipulation, and Simulation as well as large Team-Based Learning classrooms. The new building program is a total of 101,871 GSF. The total project budget is $127,542,028. The estimated Fixed Limit of Design and Construction Cost for the project is $111,700,000. The selected Design/ Build firm will need to closely coordinate construction activities with UNC to limit disruptions to adjacent occupied buildings, and pedestrian paths. Anticipated Construction Start/Finish July 24 - July 26 The State reserves the right to reject any or all proposals on the basis of being unresponsive to this RFP or for failure to disclose requested information.
