Project Background and Overview The City has assessed the current condition of the fire suppression dry pipe system at the CCC and hasidentified zones that need replacement. The City has decided to address the highest priority areas of the system first, as Phase 1. The subsequent areas have been broken into three additional phases and are included in the scope of the Project. C. General 1. The City is committed to developing and implementing a Workforce Program for the construction phases of this Project, with the intent that it will help increase outreach, training, job opportunities and employment of people in economically disadvantaged areas and populations. In addition, the City is committed to addressing shortages in qualified construction workers in general and in Targeted Categories by increasing the number of apprentices. Implementation of this Workforce Program will offer the opportunity for demonstrating, measuring, and evaluating outreach, training, and engagement efforts across numerous construction industry trades and positions. 2. The selected Contractor shall utilize the City's designated workforce convenor platform and coordinate its workforce efforts with any supporting program or resource as applicable. The CM/GC's strategy must be compatible with the City's designated workforce convenor platform and must be adaptable over time to adjust to changing labor market conditions.
