Renovation of an educational facility in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Design plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

USask Heating Plant - Steam Capacity Replacement of Boilers #3 & #4 Project. Options examined by a previously completed feasibility study include expanding of the existing building footprint, constructing the new boiler on-site (within the existing building footprint) without major infrastructure changes, and boiler replacement facilitated by removal/rebuilding the North wall of the Central Heating Plant. The boilers are to be replaced with a single boiler with capacity to produce 45,500 Kg/Hr (100,000 Lbs./Hr.) steam at 950 KPag (138 PSIG.). The new boiler will be natural gas fired with oil back up. Boilers #3 and #4 will be decommissioned and removed, with the new boiler installed within the footprint of either Boiler #3 or Boiler #4 (to be determined). This will ensure space is reserved for future steam capacity replacement considerations. To facilitate the removal of the old boilers and installation of the new boiler, the Central Heating Plant North wall (or a portion of) will need to be removed and re-constructed TIMELINE: Planning and design work is underway. Construction is planned for 2025-2026. Further update fall/winter 2024. *Budget is unreleased.
