Demolition and site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Wilson, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality. The City of Wilson is requesting bids for Demolition Services of 300 Pender St. S. (Addresses herein) Wilson, NC. 27893. This is for the property(s) included herein or in the documents related to this RFP). There is a non-mandatory site visit scheduled (see above) and the site(s) can be visited for inspection during the time listed above on your own or by contacting Jocelyn Drawhorn @ jdrawhorn@wilsonnc.org Site visit attendance is highly encouraged to understand project and layout of buildings and scope of work in this RFP. PROPOSAL QUESTIONS Written questions shall be e-mailed to rvwilson@wilsonnc.org by the date and time specified above. Contractors will enter RFP Title - Questions RFP# as the subject for the email. Questions received prior to the submission deadline date (above RFP Schedule), the Purchasing Representative and any additional terms deemed necessary by the City of Wilson will be posted in the form of an addendum to the bid SCOPE OF WORK **NOTE: This project is on a construction timeline for other related projects. Awarded demolition contractor will be expected to prioritize this project and be available by the contract start date, otherwise this may affect the award of the contract. Liquidated damages will apply to this contract (see section 6.2). The contractor shall provide all materials, tools, machinery, labor and supervision necessary for the demolition work on the above properties. THE CONTRACTOR IS SOLEY RESPONSIBLE FOR DEMOLISHING ALL STRUCTURES AND IMPROVEMENTS ON THE PROPERTIES, CLEARING ALL DEBRIS FROM THE PROPERTIES, AND RESTORING THE PROPERTIES TO A PRESENTABLE CONDITION AS FURTHER SET FORTH HEREIN. The City of Wilson is issuing this Request for Proposals to obtain building demolition and (abatement services per attachment NESHAP Asbestos Survey Report from Mid Atlantic) in accordance with the specifications contained herein. The City of Wilson reserves the right to award future demolitions for buildings similar in size and structure to the successful bidder at the proposal prices given for the address below most closely representing the size and structure. The City of Wilson is also issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) soliciting proposals from qualified firms to provide all services for demolition and the complete abatement and disposal of Asbestos Containing Materials >1% in a City owned building, as outlined in reports by MidAtlantic. A summary of the survey findings is attached below or in an additional document along with this RFP. Note: Each property lot/parcel and inlet/drain will need to have silt fencing and or silt socks installed around the perimeter as required by code. ACCEPTANCE OF WORK In the event acceptance criteria for any work or deliverables is not described in contract documents or work orders hereunder, the City shall have the obligation to notify Vendor, in writing ten (10) calendar days following completion of such work or deliverable described in the Contract that it is not acceptable. The notice shall specify in reasonable detail the reason(s) it is unacceptable. Acceptance by the City shall not be unreasonably withheld; but may be conditioned or delayed as required for reasonable review, evaluation, installation or testing, as applicable of the work or deliverable. Final acceptance is expressly conditioned upon completion of all applicable assessment procedures. Should the work or deliverables fail to meet any requirements, acceptance criteria or otherwise fail to conform to the contract, the City may exercise any and all rights hereunder, including, for deliverables, such rights provided by the Uniform Commercial Code as adopted in North Carolina. DAVIS-BACON ACT. Compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act. a. All transactions regarding this contract shall be done in compliance with the Davis-Bacon Act (40 U.S.C. 3141- 3144, and 3146-3148) and the requirements of 29 C.F.R. pt. 5 as may be applicable. The contractor shall comply with 40 U.S.C. 3141-3144, and 3146-3148 and the requirements of 29 C.F.R. pt. 5 as applicable. b. Contractors are required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. c. Additionally, contractors are required to pay wages not less than once a week.
