The Rusk County Highway Department is hereby requesting price proposals for crushing the following materials in the Rusk County gravel pits. Approximately 40,000 yards of material will be processed into the following two items: SCOTT PIT - Located north on Highway 27: Primary Crushed Gravel 3-5" 15,000 Tons - July 1, 2024 - Completion Date 1/2 inch Asphalt Aggregate 30,000 Cubic Yards - July 1, 2024 - Completion Date Reject Sand 10,000 Cubic Yards Sieve Size 1/2" Single Agg 1" 100 3/4" 100 1/2" 95-100 3/8" 75-85 No. 4 60-70 No. 8 45-58 No. 16 25-40 No. 30 20-30 No. 50 5-15 No. 100 5-10 No. 200 4-6 The material shall meet the gradation above. It is expected that material, mainly sand, will need to be rejected in order to meet the requirements of this specification. The material rejected will be piled separately and also included in the measurement for payment. NOTE: Material to remain on pit floor. The Rusk County Highway Committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive any irregularity in bids, or to accept any bid which is deemed most advantageous to Rusk County. Note: Material to remain on pit floor. Upon completion of crushing, the material will be paid for by the cubic yard as measured in the pile in its final resting position. All pile compaction and shrinkage shall be accounted for by the contractor. The method used to determine the volume of the material will be performed by Rusk County Highway Department using Stockpiles. Stockpiles is a computer based application designed for measurement of aggregate stockpiles. All excavation and hauling of material to be processed shall be included in the unit price for the work. Material shall be stacked by conveyor and each pile shall have adequate spacing and distance between the piles to perform the required measurement of each pile. A signed contract will be required along with certification of insurance, workmen's compensation certificates, proof of MSHA and First Aid Training, proof of enrollment in a Drug & Alcohol Program and signed Hazard Recognition policy, before trucks and equipment can enter into the Rusk County Gravel Pit.
