Renovation of an educational facility in Tyler, Texas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The University of Texas System ("Owner") and The University of Texas at Tyler are soliciting statements of qualifications ("Qualifications") for selection of an Architect/Engineer firm for 802-1503 Residence Hall Phase I ("Project"), in accordance with the terms, conditions, and requirements set forth in this Request for Qualifications. 1.1.1 This Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") is the first step in a two-step process for selecting an Architect/Engineer firm (Respondent). The RFQ provides the information necessary to prepare and submit Qualifications for consideration and initial ranking by the Owner. Based on the initial ranking, the Owner may select up to five (5) of the top ranked qualified respondents to attend Interviews in the final step of the process. 1.1.2 In the final step of the process, Interviews, the "most" qualified respondents will be requested to attend an interview with the Owner to confirm the Qualification submittal and answer additional questions. The Owner will then rank the remaining respondents in order to determine a "most" qualified respondent. Project Description, Scope and Budget: Located on University-owned Property on the Campus of the University of Texas at Tyler, This Project Will Provide Housing and Support Amenities for Up to +/- 450 Occupants Including Residence Staff. This Multi-story Project Will Accommodate Either a Traditional Style Dormitory With 2 Occupants Per Room and Communal Toilet Rooms and Bathing Facilities Dispersed Throughout or an Appropriate Mix of Suites for Up to 3 Occupants Per Suite. Resident Assistant Quarters Will Consist of 1-bedroom/1-bath Efficiencies and Will Be Equally Located Throughout the Project. Traditional Style Dormitory: Shall Accommodate Equal Reconfigurable Furnishings for Each Occupant Consisting of Extra-long Twin Beds (85" Frame), Dressers (3 Feet Wide) Locking Wardrobes (Minimum 4'-0" Wide), and Desks (4'-6" Wide X 2'-6" Deep) and Shelves (4'-6" Wide X 2'-0" Deep). Each Dorm Room Shall Have Sound Proofed Partitions, Key Card Access and a 180 Degree Sight Door Viewer, Exterior Window, Phone, Cable Tv, Data and Convenience Electrical Receptacles. Multi-occupant Suites: Shall Include Shared Entry, Living Area With Fixed Counter and Exterior Window, Shower, Toilet, and Vanity With an Individual Sink Per Occupant. All Suites Will Be Without Kitchens. Each Suite Entry Door Shall Be Equipped With Key Card Access and a 180 Degree Sight Door Viewer. Each Suite Shall Include Private Sleeping Quarters for Each Individual Occupant With an Exterior Window, Built-in Shelves (4'-6" Wide X 2'-0" Deep) and a Closet (Minimum 4'-0" Wide). Each Sleeping Room Shall Be Secured With Privacy Locks and Large Enough to Accommodate an Extra-long Twin Bed (85" Frame), A Single-person Dresser (3 Feet Wide) and a Desk (4'-6" Wide X 2'-6" Deep). All Doors Shall Fully Swing Clear of Required Furniture. Phone, Cable Tv, Data and Convenience Electrical Receptacles Are To Be Included in Each Sleeping Quarter and Living Area. All Partitions Will Be Soundproofed. Shared Bathrooms Within the Suites Shall Be Compartmentalized (Toilet Room Separately Accessible From Bathing) and Include Privacy Locks, in-wall Blocking at All Accessory Locations; and Continuous Exhaust Ventilation to the Exterior. Any clarifications or interpretations of this RFQ that materially affect or change its requirements will be posted by the Owner as an addendum on the OCP web site It is the responsibility of all respondents to obtain this information in a timely manner. All such addenda issued by the Owner before the proposals are due as part of the RFQ, and respondents shall acknowledge receipt of and incorporate each addendum in its Qualifications. 1.4.1 Respondents shall consider only those clarifications and interpretations that the Owner issues by addenda seven (7) business days prior to the submittal deadline. Interpretations or clarifications in any other form, including oral statements, will not be binding on the Owner and should not be relied on in preparing Qualifications. The Owner designates the following person as its representative and Point-of-Contact for this RFQ. Respondents shall restrict all contact with the Owner and direct all questions regarding this RFQ, including questions regarding terms and conditions and technical specifications, to the Point-of-Contact person.
