Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; water / sewer project; and for the renovation of a residential development.

The proposed work items are: replace flooring, doors, roofs, windows, boilers and water mates, painting, culvert repair, bathroom upgrades, playground upgrades, and parking lot and driveway repairs. Architectural services shall entail preparation of plans and specifications, on-site inspections, preparation of construction contracts, change orders, close-out documents, cost analysis, approval of pay requests, review and approval of contractor weekly time sheets, and preparation of various other documents required during the course of the project The budget for these work items is estimated around $3,650,000. This letter of interest should demonstrate you understand the scope of the work to be performed, evidence of your firm's ability to perform the work and an outline of similar projects completed by you, evidence the architect/engineer is registered or licensed to perform the work in the State of Michigan, whether a portion of the design services will be subcontracted and if so, to whom, years associated with any proposed subcontractor, and evidence the proposed subcontractor is registered or licensed to perform the work in the State of Michigan, profiles of your firm's principals, staff and facilities, and a certified statement that the architect/engineer or firm or proposed subcontractor or firm is not debarred, suspended or otherwise prohibited from professional practice by a Federal, State or local agency. It should also specify what employees will be assigned to the project; provide a time table for availability of plans and specifications for bidding, evidence of past performance in terms of cost control, quality of work and compliance with performance schedules, as well as knowledge of local building codes. The Sault Ste. Marie Housing Commission reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities in the proposals and to award in the best interest of the Housing Commission. Please include information regarding your proposed fee structure as well as an estimate of the frequency of site inspections when work has commenced. If claiming minority status, architect/engineer shall furnish documentation of such status. Federal I.D. number to be provided with RFP. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
