This proposal is for furnishing and installing the annual requirements of Countywide Pavement Marking. All materials shall meet the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction. Please refer to Table 811-1 for application rates per mile of Waterborne Binder Type. All measurements for this bid shall be in English Units. The Gogebic County Road Commission (GCRC) will schedule countywide pavement marking application to be applied in two (2) site visits. First visit shall include striping or restriping of existing roads which will need to be completed by June 30, 2024. Second visit shall include new constructed roadways and other striping needs as budget allows; to be completed between September 4 and September 30, 2024. No adjustment in unit price shall be made for two visits and shall stand firm for the entire 2024 season. This bid by mutual agreement of both parties may be extended for additional one (1) year periods, each year hereafter, but not to exceed a maximum of three (3) additional years. The successful bidder will provide the GCRC with the proof of public liability ($500,000 minimum) and property damage ($500,000) insurance to protect the GCRC and any property owners against any and all claims arising out of the performance of the contracted services. The successful bidder shall also provide a bond in the amount of the contract price to insure the performance of the work in accordance with the contract. The Commission reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive irregularities in any bid and make the award in any manner deemed for the best interest of the County. The Gogebic County Road Commission intends to paint approximately 25-30 miles of centerline and edge line markings for initial visit, which is to be completed by June 30, 2024. Second visit, after completion of construction projects, will have approximately 10-15 miles of centerline and edge line markings, along with approximately 10 additional miles of centerline only markings. Locations of the pavement striping shall be from Ironwood to Watersmeet, Michigan and will be no less than 3 miles in length in any specific area.
