APN: 224-001-224 Alter mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in an existing community college classroom to support S.T.E.M. instruction. The Project consists of the construction of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing alterations to support a STEM vocational classroom. Features include a new heat removal hood, rooftop exhaust fan, suspended slot channel ceiling grid supporting electrical power cord reels, and replacement of an existing sink and cabinet. The work also includes anchorage of instructional equipment that is not part of the architecture or building systems.. All bid proposals must be sealed and submitted on forms furnished by the District. Each bid proposal must be accompanied by: (a) the required. Each envelope shall bear the Title of the Project, the Project Number and the Name of the Bidder Bid Security; not less than 10% of the maximum amount of Bid Proposal inclusive of add-on or alternates, (b) Subcontractors List, (c) Non-Collusion Affidavit, and (d) Statement of Bidder's Qualifications, all of which must be fully executed. Failure to comply shall render such proposal to be "Non Responsive" and rejected. Bid proposals must conform with and be responsive to the bid and contract documents. Each Bidder submitting a proposal to complete the work, labor, materials and/or services ("Work") subject to this procurement must be a Department of Industrial Relations registered contractor pursuant to Labor Code &1725.5("DIR Registered Contractor"). A Bidder who is not a DIR Registered Contractor when submitting a proposal for the work is deemed 'not qualified" and the proposal of such a Bidder will be rejected for non-responsiveness. Pursuant to Labor Code &1725.5; all Subcontractors identified in a Bidder's Subcontractor List shall be DIR Registered Contractors. If awarded the Contract for the Work, at all times during performance of the work, the Bidder and all Subcontractors, of any tier shall be DIR Registered Contractors. In accordance with Section & 1770 of the CA Labor Code, the Contractor shall post a copy of the determination prevailing rates of wages at each job site. In accordance with the provisions of CA Public Contract Code & 22300, substitution of eligible and equivalent securities for any monies to ensure performance under the contract will be permitted at the request and expense of the Contractor. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bid proposals or to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bid proposal or in the bidding. 1. ARCHITECTURAL - CONSTRUCT FURRING FOR NEW POWER RECEPTACLES, INSTALL SUSPENDED CHANNEL STRUT FRAMING FOR OVERHEAD POWER REELS, REPLACE SUSPENDED CEILING TILES (NO ALTERATIONS TO SUSPENSION SYSTEM), MISCELLANEOUS WALL AND FLOOR FINISHES, ANCHOR TEACHING EQUIPMENT NOT PART OFF BUILDING SYSTEMS TO THE STRUCTURE 2. MECHANICAL - PROVIDE NEW TYPE II EXHAUST HOOD, DUCT, AND ROOFTOP EXHUAST FAN. ADD OUTSIDE AIR INTAKE DUCTS AND ROOFTOP VENTS. 3. PLUMBING - REPLACE EXISTING SINK AND CABINET. 4. ELECTRICAL - REDISTRIBUTE POWER IN CLASSROOM TO SUPPORT THE CURRICULUM AND EQUIPMENT THAT IS NOT PART OF THE BUILDING SYSTEMS. A. Scope of alterations work is indicated on drawings. B. Plumbing: Replace existing sink with accessible fixture.. Replace existing drinking fountain along POT with new hi-lo fixture. C. HVAC: Add Type II exhaust hood and rooftop exhaust fan for odor removal. Add outside air intake vents and ductwork to compensate for hood exhaust intake.. D. Electrical Power and Lighting: Add electrical receptacles around classroom walls. Add overhead power receptacle reels.. E. Fire Alarm: No changes to fire alarm system.
