Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Charleston, South Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The College of Charleston, Facility Management Department requires services to make drainage improvements to the existing gravel parking lot at 24 Bull St. Charleston SC 29401.This project will be performed according to the following Scope of Work and to the College of Charleston Bull Street Drainage Improvements Plan and Specifications attached. Project Description: The 24 Bull Street - Parking Lot Drainage Improvement Plan is designed to provide a path to drain storm water that currently collects in the parking lot to a storm water drain with the installation of a new trench drain in the parking lot that will drain to a replacement catch basin located at the back of the adjoining College of Charleston property at 18 Bull Street (William Blacklock House) From the 18 Bull Street Catch Basin a replacement drainage pipe will connect to an existing storm water catch basin that is located on the adjoining College of Charleston property at 71 Coming St - Rivers Green. SCOPE OF WORK: Services shall include, but not be limited to the furnishing of all materials, labor, equipment, tools, superintendence, trash and demo material disposal and miscellaneous items, and performing all work necessary to complete all work to the satisfaction of, and subject to the approval of the Facilities Management Department of The College of Charleston. Contractor will provide proof of license and insurance. Contractor will perform the work according to the following: Plan Drawings: Bull Street Parking Lot Drainage Improvements - ADC Engineering - Dated 5/24/23 Technical Specifications: ADC Engineering - Dated 5/24/23 Inspect the existing conditions Repair and or replace any sod or landscaping that is damaged due to construction work. Protect and or repair existing irrigation systems that are impacted by this work. Scarify all existing gravel in the 24 Bull St parking lot to a minimum depth of 8"and regrade according to the plan and specifications. Coordinate the removal and replacement of any trees or bushes College of Charleston Landscaping Department Follow instructions regarding Archaeological Notice to Contractor as outlined on Plan Drawings. All work to be performed during normal working hours. It is anticipated that this project will be done over Summer Break Please provide a projected project timeline (# of days) for completion of the work. SITE INSPECTION: Bidder may visit the site and acquaint themselves with the existing conditions and the activity involved after calling Sean Houlihan at 854-202-4038 and arranging the visit. INSURANCE: Workman's Compensation Insurance - for all the Contractor's employees and those of any subcontractor, engaged in work at the site of the project as required by law. Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance - to protect The College of Charleston, and any and all subcontractors from claims for damages for personal injury (including bodily injury, sickness or disease, accidental death and damage to property including the loss of use resulting from any property damage, which may arise from the activities performed under the Contract, or the failure to perform under the Contract, whether such performance or non-performance be by the Contractor, by any subcontractor, or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either. The minimum amounts of coverage shall be $250,000 per person and $1,000,000 per occurrence for bodily injury, including death, and $250,000 per person and $1,000,000 per occurrence for property damage. Such policies shall be occurrence rather than claimsmade policies and shall not contain any endorsements or any other form designated to limit and restrict any action by The College of Charleston, as an additional insured, against the insurance coverage in regard to work performed for The College of Charleston. Automobile Bodily Injury Insurance - to protect The College of Charleston and the contractor from claims arising out of the performance of the contract, including bodily injury and property damage insurance. The amount of bodily injury insurance shall not be less than $250,000 for injury to or death of persons per occurrence. The amount of Property Damage Insurance shall not be less than $1,000,000 per occurrence. Automobile bodily injury and property damage insurance coverage shall include non-owned and leased vehicles. Evidence of such coverage shall be required even though the Contractor claims to own no vehicles to be employed on the project. CONTRACT TERM: The contract shall commence upon receipt of Purchase Order and Notice to Proceed. Unless established the contract shall terminate based on final acceptance of work and invoice approval. AWARD: Bid will be awarded based on the lowest total sum. In the event of a discrepancy between the unit price and extension of figures, the unit price will prevail. The unit price shall include all materials, labor, superintendence, tools, equipment, and any other items necessary for completion of the project. The contractor shall be paid at the unit price for actual work performed. The Facilities Department will only accept out to two (2) decimal points when entering your "Unit Price" figures in the Bid. INVOICES: Upon completion and acceptance of work the Contractor shall Invoice for no more than the amount of the approved purchase order amount unless it was amended and approved by a change order. If a change order and amended cost was approved, the invoice shall reflect the itemized cost of the base bid and individually listed cost of each approved change order. All invoices MUST have the Purchase Order Number, as well as your Vendor Number, on the invoice. Failure to provide this could result in a delay of your payment. Invoices must be itemized to reflect actual Labor and Material Costs separately. Invoices shall be provided in email form to: accountspayable@cofc.edu, Chrystal Davis davisc6@cofc.edu and copy to Sean Houlihan- Facilities Management College of Charleston houlihansp@cofc.edu. WARANTY: Contractor shall provide detailed warranty information regarding the work they perform. It is the Contractor's responsibility to provide any exclusion to warranty. Warranty shall include both workmanship and material components. PROPOSALS AND PRICING: All proposals shall be submitted with the complete scope listed above including all parts, materials, supplies, labor and work described above. Pricing shall be broken into two components of "Total Labor" and "Total Parts" All taxes, fees, shipping or delivery components shall be included. Question Submission Close Date 4/4/2024 9:00 AM EDT
