Site work and new construction of a military facility in Fort Worth, Texas. Completed plans call for the construction of a 29,602-square-foot military facility.

1.0 PROJECT DESCRIPTION 1.1. Project Location: F-35 DSP/LRS Mobility Warehouse sited at the intersection of Desert Storm Road and Chief's Way. The site is entirely above the 100-year flood plain. 1.2. The project consists of a 29,602-gsf ventilated and heated warehouse including an air-conditioned administrative area of Approx. 1,530 sf. 1.3. The building includes a 2,500-sf weapons vault with humidity control and forklift access via GSA rated A-5 armory doors. 1.4. The rectangular building is roughly 100-Ft x 300-ft with a hip roof sloped at 2-Vertical on 12-Horizontal. The basic building construction consists of PEMB steel frames, purlins, and girts, with insulated metal panel enclosure (walls and roof). Roof drainage consists of gutters and downspouts discharging on grade. A reinforced concrete and brick veneer 48-inch height wainscot provides forklift protection, as well as, integration into the base wide building design standards. 1.5. The remainder of the warehouse will be open storage space for 20-Ft Height Racks storage, small parts drawer storage units, an area for IUS-90 container storage units and a large parts and sub-assembly laydown area. 1.6. Forklift ramps and tall vertical lift sectional doors are located on the east side of the building adjacent to large parts laydown area, and on the south end of the building adjacent to the 2-fully outfitted and oversized truck docks. The contractor is responsible for establishing the floor loading criteria and structural design of the docks and adjacent floor slab. 1.7. Existing B-1229 a 20,665-gsf facility built in 1942 scheduled for demolition and removal from the site to make room for the new building. A Hazardous Materials Report conducted for this project is included in PART 6A Attachments. 1.8. Howell Way directly abutting the site requires removal and replaced to accommodate the slope down to the loading docks, and the increased pavement wear imposed by the heavier loading and tight maneuvering of the 18-wheel delivery trucks. 1.9. The building will require a "Fire Water" storage tank due the limited water supply available in this area of NAS JRB Fort Worth, TX.
