**As of October 8, 2025, the project was awarded to Place Services Inc., with an awarded amount of $5,144,473** Reference Number 0000394759 The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners Purchasing Department (County) is requesting competitive sealed Proposals in support of the Cherokee County Community Services Agency in seeking General Contractor services for construction of an administrative and operations facility to support the current and future needs of the Cherokee Area Transit Service (CATS). The scope includes construction of a new CATS facility designed to provide bus parking, service, and administrative offices for the Cherokee County Transit Service. The facility will be located on roughly 6.5 acres on the southwest corner of Univeter Road and Pinecrest Road in Cherokee County GA. The new facility will be approximately 6,738 square feet. It will include, but is not limited to, offices, reception area, conference room, training room/garage, dispatch, kitchenette and breakroom, restrooms and associated mechanical, IT, janitorial and storages spaces, meeting the specifications and as described herein. Details are on the Designated Website with posted plans and specifications The Federal Transit Administration is providing financial assistance for this project. Cherokee County has established a Race Neutral Program weighted DBE Utilization Goal of 6.08%. There is no Contract Specific Goal for this Project. See FTA Clauses for additional detail regarding the DBE program. Anticipated federal, and state permits required for the project have been obtained. Conditional building permit approval has been received from Cherokee County. The monument sign permit is in process with Cherokee County. Contractor to file for Fire Prevention Permit through Cherokee County. Contractor will remain responsible to pull the permits. No fees will be charged for any County issued permits. County has set aside 365 calendar days from NTP for material completion. All property, rights of way, and easements have been obtained. There will be a mandatory meeting to review the requirements and site work completed to date. The meeting will be held at the proposed work site and will include walking the area. All times in the solicitation are local times to Cherokee County, Georgia in the Eastern Time Zone. This Request for Proposals is one of two documents making up this solicitation. The second document is Cherokee County Standard Solicitation Terms and Conditions, which contains all the standard forms potentially required to accompany a submission. Both of these documents together, and other referenced or noted documents posted with them, constitute the entire solicitation at the time of issuance. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids/proposals, to waive technicalities and to make a selection and final award as deemed to be in the best interest of the County, including using any form of contract it deems most advantageous to the County.
