Across the U.S., recent Balfour Beatty projects include: The $340 million Concourse B project at Jacksonville International Airport in Florida _____________________________________ The project primarily consists of the expansion and reconstruction of the existing Concourse B apron as well as the construction of a new bypass taxiway at Jacksonville International Airport. Major work items include: Demolition of existing concrete apron, asphalt pavement and old airfield lighting vault; construction of new concrete apron and taxiway pavements; construction of new asphalt pavement for shoulders and vehicle service roads; construction of a new storm water collection system including underdrains and cleanouts; removal of existing and installation of new pavement underdrains within the pavement demolition limits; modification of existing Taxiway V to become apron-edge Taxilane V, and addition of parallel bypass taxiway; installation of new pavement markings; removal and relocation of existing elevated taxiway/apron edge lights; relocation of airfield signage; relocation of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Surface Weather Sensor; replacement of FAA power and communications service to the FAA Remote Transmit Receiver; sodding of disturbed areas. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid will be required to accompany bids. Contract Bonding shall also be required. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities in bidding. The Authority has determined that eight percent (8%) DBE participation goal will be prescribed for this project. As a good corporate citizen, JAA fully supports the usage of DBE on JAA projects.
