The project generally consists of: Installation of new waterline at Stennis International Airport to serve existing washdown rack adjacent to Taxilane Sierra and installation of drainage improvements along Fred & Al Key Road near Tyonek. The above general outline of features of the work does not in any way limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all plant, labor, equipment, and materials required by the specifications and the drawings referred to therein. Each Bidder must deposit with his proposal, a Bid Bond in an amount equal to 5% (five) percent of its bid, payable to the Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission, as bid security. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Payment Bond and Performance Bond each in the amount of 100 percent of the contract amount. Minority and women's business enterprises are solicited to bid on this contract as prime contractors and are encouraged to make inquiries regarding potential subcontracting opportunities, equipment, materials and/or supply needs. The Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission hereby notifies all Bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged and women's business enterprises will be afforded the full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The Hancock County Port & Harbor Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein. The Contractor will commence the work required by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS within 10 calendar days after the date of the NOTICE TO PROCEED and Substantial Completion of the project will be obtained within 30 consecutive calendar days of the NOTICE TO PROCEED date unless the period for completion is extended otherwise by the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. The Contractor shall be liable for the continued assessment of liquidated damages at $1,000.00 for each calendar day that the Contractor is in default in attaining Final Completion within the time stipulated as provided herein.
