Wolters Elementary School Multipurpose Room and Classroom Roof Replacement, to repair and replace existing roof on Multipurpose Room and (4) Classrooms. Clarification Deadline 4/17/2024 5:00 Pm Prime Contractor must have a valid Class C-39 Contractors License. The time allowed for completion for the project shall be 45 Calendar days. Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashiers check, or a bidders bond in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of total bids made payable to Fresno Unified. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: a. Removal and disposal of existing steep-slope roofing systems where indicated in Specifications. Installation of new, steep-slope roofing systems per specifications, manufacturer and building code requirements. b. Replace damaged or defective plywood roof sheathing, diagonal sheathing and straight wood board roof decking as authorized by Owner. Contractor to provide Unit Cost for additional plywood exceeding quantities included in Base Bid. See Bid Form and Section 06 10 00 for requirements. c. Remove and replace damaged or defective 1X wood board roof decking as authorized by Owner. Install new decking to match existing thickness. Contractor to provide Unit Cost for additional lumber exceeding quantities included in Base Bid and Alternate Lump Sum Bids. See Bid form and Section 06 10 00. Install two (2) nails at each bearing point over framing. d. Remove and replace damaged or defective 2X wood board roof decking as authorized by Owner. Install new decking to match existing thickness. Contractor to provide Unit Cost for additional lumber exceeding quantities included in Base Bid and Alternate Lump Sum Bids. See Bid Form and Section 06 10 00. Install two (2) nails at each bearing point over framing. e. Remove and replace existing flashings and edge metal unless indicated otherwise. Install new sheet metal flashings at all roof penetrations and new 24 GA. G.I. perimeter metal edging to match dimensions of existing metal edging. Paint to match. f. Install new low-profile roof attic vents at all specified steep-slope roof areas per building code and local jurisdiction requirements. Install at high-low configuration to provide maximum venting. Color to complement roof and building finish. g. Remove all non-functioning service lines, flashings and related components at specified roof areas and/or as required to properly install new roofing systems. h. Temporarily support or detach wall-mounted elements as required to remove existing roofing system and to properly install new insulation and specified roofing systems and related elements. Reinstall elements on existing or new supports as indicated on Reroof of MPR & 4 Classroom Buildings Wolters Elementary School, Fresno Unified School District Fresno, California drawings. i. Disconnect and remove existing roof-mounted HVAC units, HVAC supports, roof vents, and rooftop equipment and deck penetrations as required to properly remove existing roofing and install new roofing systems in operational condition. j. All miscellaneous demolition required for proper installation of new roof systems.
