Plans call for a multi-year rebuild of airport gates and baggage operations, including a new terminal headhouse in Garage A, a concourse widened by about 50 feet, new parking structures, a consolidated rental car center, major curbside access improvements, and upgraded security and baggage facilities. This project is part of the Love Field Airport Program (LEAP), which has an early estimated cost of nearly $2.5 billion. The design work will begin in 2026 and phased construction starting as early as 2027 and continuing through the end of the decade. The City of Dallas planning presentations, LEAP will be built in stages to keep the airport operating, and financing tools will be finalized once design work defines the full scope. As of February 9, 2026, the city has not announced the design firm, construction manager, general contractor, or detailed firm construction and completion timelines.
