Herrin High School Tiger Wellness Center Addition DESCRIPTION OF WORK This project consists of; minor demolitions to the existing building and site, new earthwork, new concrete foundations and site elements, new structural steel and load bearing stud framing and load bearing CMU and masonry veneer work, new interior metal framing and drywall, new doors and frames, new windows and FRP entry systems, new plumbing and plumbing fixtures, new electrical and special systems wiring, fixtures and devices, new sprinkler work, new HVAC units, ductwork, and air devices, new toilet accessories, and cabinetry, new gypsum board and acoustical tile ceiling systems, new finishes including luxury vinyl tile and resilient accessories. Bid Security in amount and form specified in the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS will be required to be submitted with each bid. Bids may not be withdrawn until 30 days after the bid date and time. Bidders shall be required to complete the New Vendor Request Form as published in the Specifications and shall include it with their bid package. Successful bidders shall be required to observe 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et. Seq., pertaining to wages and known as the "Prevailing Wage Act" as issued by the Illinois Department of Labor. Successful bidders shall also observe 30 ILCS 560/0.01 et. Seq., pertaining to hiring Illinois labor and known as the "Public Work Preference Act". Furthermore, successful bidders shall observe the "Illinois Human Rights Act, as Amended", 775 ILCS 5/1-101et. Seq., and the Rules and Regulations, Title 44, Section 750 of the Illinois Administrative Code, Illinois Department of Human Rights. Successful bidders and their subcontractors shall be required to enter a project labor agreement with the Egyptian Building & Construction Trades Council. The successful bidders and subcontractors shall comply with the Illinois Procurement Code, 30 ILCS 500/30-22, to determine their need for Apprenticeship and Training Program requirement as defined in Project Manual section 00 21 13 - INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. The successful bidders and subcontractors shall comply with the Illinois Procurement Code, 30 ILCS 575/1, to endeavor to meet a goal of 20% of the total amount of the construction contract to be awarded to minority- owned (goal of 11%), female owned (goal of 7%), and persons with disabilities owned (2%) businesses. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids or any part thereof, to waive any informality in bidding and to accept bids deemed most favorable to the Owner.
