It is the intent to purchase Sand for Ice Control to be used in ice control spreaders. Purchase Sand for Ice Control to Be Used in Ice Control Spreaders. Price: Price Shall Be Net F.o.b. Department of Public Works Storage Area, Carleton Ave., Central Islip, Ny 11722 or Any Point in the Town of Islip. Contract Period: Contract Shall Remain in Effect for Two (2) Years From Date of Award With the Town's Option to Renew for Two (2) Additional Years Under the Same Terms and Conditions. Quantity: Time is of the Essence. Contract Shall Be for the Quantities Actually Ordered During the Contract Period With 900 Tons Required for an Average Storm - 10,000 Tons Year Total. Bids Will Be Accepted Only From Bidders Whose Access to Sand and Sand Bearing Material and Equipment to Process Said Material is Sufficient to Supply the Town 3,000 Yards of Sand Per Week. Delivery: the Successful Bidder Shall Be Available for Delivery Services Twenty-four (24) Hours Per Day, Seven (7) Days Per Week From the Period of December 15, 2024 Through April 16, 2025; December 15, 2025 Through April 15, 2026; December 15, 2026 Through April 15, 2027 and at Any Other Time Required During a Snow Storm or Icy Conditions for the Duration of the Contract Period. Specification References: the Screened Sand Offered is to Be Used in Ice Control Spreaders And Shall Consist of Clean, Hard, Durable, Uncoated Stone Particles Free From Lumps of Clay and All Deleterious Substances. 100% Shall Pass the 1/2 " Mesh Sieve and Not More Than 10% Shall Pass the 200-mesh Sieve. Quality: Any Material Which is Rejected Because of Failure to Meet the Requires Tests Shall Immediately Be Removed From Town Property at the Contractor's Expense. Special Provisions: Contracts May Not Be Assigned Without Written Consent by the Town. Bids Must Be Accompanied by a Certified Check or Bid Bond in the Amount of $300.00. After Award, the Successful Bidder Must Provide a Performance Bond in the Amount of $3,000,00. The Islip Town Board Reserves the Right to Waive Any Formality and/or Informality or to Reject Any or All Bids Received or to Award a Contract to One or More Bidders for an Item, Group(S) of Items or All Items of the Bid, When in the Opinion of the Town Board, Such an Action Will Be in the Best Interest of the Town. In the Event Bids Are Rejected or No Bids Are Received, the Purchasing Department is Authorized to Re-advertise for Bids.
