Site work for an educational facility in Stockton, California. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility.

Scope The work requested is needed to enhance the landscaping to create a safe environment so children can play without tripping on exposed roots or elevated turf (see project photos in attachment A). The elevation of the grass will need to be installed below the hardscape, and the storm drain raised to allow adequate landscape drainage to occur. The soil and roots on the elevated sections of the play yard will need to be lowered dramatically, and organic soil amendments added. A new 5ft wide concrete pathway to be installed in the middle of the assigned worksite. Lastly, the landscape irrigation will need to be modified to provide 100 % coverage for new turf installation. The project area is approximately 2700 ft. and is south of the Child Development Center (see project map attachment B). The project will require the following: Valid C-27 landscaping contractor license. Able to provide the minimum insurance requirements set by the District. When permissible, all demolition debris must be recycled. Worksite shall be fenced for the duration of work being completed. Designated staging requirements would be outside of the C DC play yard. The removal and disposal of excess soil, tree roots, and landscape turf 4" below the existing hardscape. Delta Bluegrass Dwarf Fescue to be installed in the project area. New concrete walk-in middle of landscape 5 feet wide 4 inches deep Storm drain to be raised and landscape contoured to a minimum of 2%. Lawn irrigation to be reconfigured to provide 100% coverage. A minimum of 2" of plant-based compost is to be added and mixed into the soil. New sod installed. The job site and surrounding area must remain safe, neat, and clean always. There is an access gate on the southeast corner of the play yard. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price, as further specified in the Contract Documents. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to District, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California, with an A.M. Best's financial strength rating of "A-" or better and a financial size rating of "VII" or better, on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. Bid Security must be submitted electronically AND submitted as a hard copy and both must be received by the District 1) via electronic upload to the procurement portal and 2) via hard copy by hand delivery to Receiving Dock or mail to 5151 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95207, ATTN: JAlford with the Bid # and Project Description clearly identified on the envelope BEFORE bid open date and time prescribed to be deemed responsive. The bid security must guarantee that within ten days after District issues the Notice of Potential Award, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, insurance certificates and endorsements, Supplier Registration Form, Agreement to be Bound by the District's Project Labor and Community Workforce Agreement, if applicable, and any other submittals required by the Contract Documents and as specified in the Notice of Potential Award. The Project is located at Stockton Main Campus, 5151 Pacific Ave, Stockton, California 95207, and is described as follows: Enhance landscape of current Child Development Center play yard and remove any safety hazards. If Contractor fails to complete the Work within the Contracted Time, District will assess liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per day for each day of unexcused delay in completion, and such liquidated damages may be deducted from District's payments due or to become due to Contractor under this Bid. Question Submission Deadline:April 18, 2024, 2:00pm Question Response Deadline:April 24, 2024, 4:00pm Questions, requests for clarifications regarding the Project, bid procedures, or any of the Contract Documents must be submitted through the procurement portal The estimated construction cost is $75,000.00.
