The Municipality of Wawa is issuing this combined request for proposals to: Collect refuse in the Municipality of Wawa; Collect refuse for the Local Services Board of Hawk Junction; and Collect recyclable materials (i.e. cardboards, plastics, cans, glass) in bins at the landfill or mutually agreed to alternative site, and transfer to closest recycling facility for the Municipality of Wawa only. The requirements for these items are included in the RFP. There will be three (3) separate agreements for the above work depending on Municipal Council's selection; one with the LSB of Hawk Junction, one other with the Municipality of Wawa, and the final agreement will be for the selected recycling initiative pick-up and transfer. Contractors must submit a proposal together with the cost of provision of each of these items as specified in the schedule of fees prepared in the Bids & Tenders portal. Contractors must include the cost of the provision of the works items for a three (3) year term in the schedule of fees table (at the discretion of Mayor and Council, contracts may be extended for an additional two (2) years). Contractors responding to this proposal must include the full cost separately of both the collection of refuse in Hawk Junction Local Services Board (LSB) and the Municipality of Wawa, and also a separate cost to include a recycling program that includes transfer of specified recycles to the closest recycling facility only for the community of Wawa. One Contractor will be selected to provide all the refuse collection and the recycling initiative services, should any recycling initiative be approved.
