License Requirements State California C-27 and a C-61/D49 Project Duration 2 year contract, renewable for 8 additional one-year increments at City's Sole Discretion The City of Fontana is soliciting Requests for Proposals from highly qualified firms to provide annual services for tree maintenance. The selected firm will also be responsible for responding to the City's emergency tree issues. The City currently maintains approximately 59,600 trees located in the City's park, landscape, and right-of-way areas. These trees currently are trimmed annually on a five year trim cycle. The purpose of this maintenance contract is to provide the City of Fontana with the best possible value in tree maintenance services. The selected firm will work closely with City staff to ensure the most appropriate care and maintenance of the City's trees. It is the intent of the City to award a five (5) year contract to the selected firm with the option of five additional one-year increments at the City's sole discretion. The City reserves the right to further negotiate the terms and conditions of the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any proposal for noncompliance with contract requirements and provisions, or to not award a contract because of unforeseen circumstances or if it is determined to be in the best interest of the City. This contract will be awarded based on demonstrated ability and performance providing similar services at a fair and reasonable cost. This contract may not be awarded to the lowest bidder. The City does not guarantee a specific amount of work and the quantity of work may increase or decrease depending on needs. The work is routine maintenance and includes trimming or pruning, watering, removing and planting of trees, pest control and inventory services. The City, at its option and with Contractor concurrence, may renew this contract for five (5) additional years, in one year increments, on the same terms and conditions as provided herein. This option may be exercised only if the Contractor demonstrates superior performance in the provision of tree maintenance services during the prior five year contract term.
