The Public Works Department manages the facility maintenance program for Door replacement systems repair. The Contractor awarded this Bid shall provide Door Repair and Replacement Services for all City owned or leased facilities as detailed in this Bid. The City's facilities inventory includes 29 buildings with approximately 538,000 square feet. The total square feet indicates the size of the buildings area and not necessarily the area to be maintained by this contract. The type of facility uses includes office/professional, maintenance operations, recreational, educational and public safety. There is public access to most City facilities; hours of operations will vary based upon facility type. The intent of the Bid is to solicit sealed proposals from highly qualified firms with expertise in providing Door Repair and Replacement services for public facilities. The City will award the contract to the most qualified proponent that will provide the best value to the City based upon the specifications included in this Request for Proposal. The Contractor will be required to perform services on City owned or leased buildings, City parks and landscape areas or as directed by the City Representative. The goal of the facility Door Repair and Replacement Services program is to provide service so City Facilities can function in a safe, secure, dependable condition and provide an atmosphere that will inspire public confidence. The quantities in the "Pricing" section are estimates and will be used to compare bid proposals. However, due to the fluctuating uncertain economic times there are no guarantees for the amount of work the City may request. The Contractor shall provide materials, equipment, tools, travel, storage and labor to complete a given project. The Contractor is required to maintain proper license, certifications and provide a copy of a Contractors Specialty Class Trade License, C-61\D28 Door, Gate and Operating Device prior to award of contract. A period of 5 years experience in the performance of door repair, replacement and maintenance as specified within this proposal.
