The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is seeking bids for designing and building a sand/salt cover structure at the MDT Big Sky/Gallatin Section. SPECIFICATIONS FOR WORK: Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is asking for quotes in DESIGNING, SUPPLYING and BUILDING a post & truss style building at the MDT Gallatin Gateway Section, 72001 Gallatin Rd, Gallatin Gateway Mt, 59730. Building is to be pre-engineered/designed to meet all Local, County and State building codes. All work is to be done in compliance to building codes and materials shall be installed per manufacturer specifications. Design/Build contractor is to submit, provide and pay for all proper building permits/plan review fees. Site preparation work at the above listed location will be performed by MDT prior to construction startup. Contractor is to provide all designs, labor, materials, equipment, incidentals and Local, State and County Building Permits necessary for the project, as well as carry workers compensation and liability insurance as outlined in this RFB document. Work site is to be neatly maintained and clean throughout project as not to interfere with MDT's daily operations. MDT will dispose of the spoils (if any), be responsible for supplying and placing finish grade materials inside and out of the building and provide and purchase/install the concrete ECO blocks. It is recommended that bidding contractors visit the site to access specific site conditions for the project. BUILDING SPECIFICATIONS: Building is to be 50' by 140' clear span throughout Building is to be a pre-engineered post/truss frame building open on one side with horizontal wall girts on three sides with metal siding application. Install metal wall panels from eave down 12'-0". Gable ends of roof/Truss system to be sided with metal wall panels. All post/columns to be fully pressure treated preservative wood members. Roof covering to be 26-gauge Delta Rib steel panels or equal and all accessories for roofing to match. Wall panels to be 29-gauge Delta Rib metal panels or equal. MDT will select color package. Interior space MINIMUM opening height from grade level to bottom of truss's is to be 22'-0" throughout entire structure. Truss pitch to be 4/12 or 5/12. Provide all wall girts and truss purlins needed for metal wall/roof panel installation as required. Building code design loads for wind, Snow and Seismic need to be taken in as consideration for building site area. Structurally brace all trusses as required.
