Renovation of an educational facility in San Diego, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project estimate is between $100,000 and $130,000, inclusive of allowances. The District requires that Bidders possess any of the following classification(s) of California State Contractors License(s), valid and in good standing, at the time of bid opening and contract award: C39, or other appropriate license, subject to District approval. Pursuant to the board-approved resolution in support of Disabled Veteran Businesses (DVBs) approved on May 10, 2011, the Bidder is required to satisfy a minimum DVB participation percentage of at least three percent (3%) for this project. In compliance with this Program, the Bidder shall satisfy all requirements enumerated in the bid package. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in and shall be accompanied by a satisfactory bid security in the form of either a bid bond executed by the bidder and a surety company or a certified or cashier's check in favor of the San Diego Unified School District, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of their bid value. Said bid security shall be given to guarantee that the Bidder will execute the contract as specified, within five (5) working days of notification by the District. Bid Proposals may not be withdrawn by any Bidder for a period of ninety (90) days after the opening of Bid Proposals. During this time, all Bidders shall guarantee prices quoted in their respective Bid Proposals. A successful bidder shall not be relieved of the bid submitted without the District's consent or bidder's recourse to Public Contract Code 5100 et seq. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. If the scope of work does not involve new, or major reconstruction, (as defined by the District), at the option of the District, an “Installation Floater” will be acceptable to meet this requirement. For such projects, a property installation floater shall be obtained that provide for the improvement, remodel, modification, alteration, conversion or adjustment to existing buildings, structures, processes, machinery and equipment. The Property Installation Floater shall provide property damage coverage for any building, structure, machinery or equipment damaged, impaired, broken or destroyed during the performance of the Work, including during transit, installation and testing at the District’s site. Description: Replacement of damaged Plywood Roof Sheathing will be as specified in Section 06 16 00 “Sheathing.” Description: Replacement pricing for damaged Fascia Board, Rafters or Starter Board will be by the lineal foot.
