The scope of work includes construction of 430 vertical feet of cementitious lining of sewer manholes, grouting and patching of five sewer manholes, build manhole bench and invert at one sewer manhole, replacement of one manhole frame and covers, install inflow dishes at 11 sewer manholes, installation of one internal drop connection, chemical root treatment of 16 sewer manholes, chemical root treatment at 8,800 linear feet of sewer mainline, 9,775 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe. 7,005 linear feet of cleaning. inspecting, testing, and sealing of sewers, five cured-in-place lateral liners, testing and grouting of 34 laterals, seven cured-in-place short liners, 6, 100 linear feet of cleaning and television inspection of sewers, two open cut point repairs, grouting of annual space in slip lined pipe, and other related tasks. The required contract completion period is 120 consecutive days. The contractor shall complete. retest inspection and final paving within 30 consecutive days of commencement of retest. inspection. The Contractor shall commence and complete retest inspection within the required retest period identified above no sooner than two months after completion of construction, but within the one- year warranty period. The commencement of the retest inspection shall be subject to approval by the engineer. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer's or cashier's check payable to the Owner, is required in the amount of five percent of the bid, in accordance with Section 00200, INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS. All payments for printing and shipping are nonrefundable. For addition to the project plan holder's list to guarantee receipt of addenda, it is recommended interested bidders obtain the Contract Documents directly from Accent. Interested bidders will be prompted to register an email address with Accent to access the documents. The selected contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in amount at least equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price as stipulated in Section 00700, GENERAL CONDITIONS of these specifications. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) goals are applicable to the total dollars paid to the construction contract. The goals for this project are a minimum of 4.2 percent D/MBE participation and 4.5 percent D/WBE participation by certified DBEs. The two low Bidders shall submit completed DBE forms (EEO-DEP-190C. EEO-DEP-191C and the DBE Certification of United States Citizenship form) by the close of business on the third business day after bid opening. Failure to comply with the requirements of this paragraph may be deemed to render a proposal nonresponsive. No waiver of any provision of this section will be granted unless approved by the Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). This project is funded in part by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority I/I Local Financial Assistance Program MWRA Project No. WRA-P14-39-2-1409.
