The City of Boston, acting through its Chief of Streets, invites sealed bids for the performance of the work generally described below, and particularly set forth in the Invitation for Bids. The aim of this contract is to supplement city forces on small sidewalk and roadway repair projects. The work shall consist of making minor repairs, and patches to existing brick, Portland cement concrete and bituminous sidewalks and driveways, resetting of edgestone, installation of new edgestone, repairs and or installations of bollards, minor roadway cave ins and backfilling depressions in either roadway or sidewalks where directed. The work shall also include: adjustments of pullbox frame and covers, and removal and replacement of parking meter posts or sign posts Scope of Work The aim of this contract is to supplement city forces on small sidewalk and roadway repair projects. The contractor will be responsible for the appropriate disposal of all collected debris. The quantities set forth herein are merely estimates of what may be required under the contract, and the City reserves the right to increase or diminish the quantities in any of the items as they may deem necessary, without change of price per unit, provided the increase of the sum of all said items does not exceed one hundred and twenty-five (125%) percent of the sum of all said items stated as the grand total of all unit prices. Specific locations and services required will be identified over the life of the contract through weekly and daily service requests from the City and fee proposals from the contractor. The work for this contract may include but shall not be limited to: Clean up and remove existing brick, stones, concrete, granite, and asphalt. Pointing and repairs to brick, stones, concrete, granite and asphalt. Repair to and/or replacement of asphalt walkways Patching and repairing concrete surfaces. Concrete expansion joint repairs and replacement. Repair and re-setting of granite stairs and pavers.
