Bidders shall submit Proof of Responsibility statements before 5 p.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024, to the office of the engineer by methods of email (dknoeck@msa-ps.com), fax (715-384-9787), or by postal mail (146 North Central Avenue, Suite 201, Marshfield, Wisconsin 54449). An approved prequalified general contractor list will be posted to online by 5 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2024. The project includes the following work: The project will construct a new connector street from STH 13 to Community Drive, approximately 550 feet; and a new frontage road south of the connector street, approximately 470 feet. Both roadway widths measure 34 feet from back of curb to back of curb and consist of 4-inch asphalt pavement over 8-inch base aggregate over 12-inches of select crushed material with SAS fabric and drain tile. The project also includes new storm sewer catch basins, leads and a bio-retention stormwater basin. The project also includes work on the STH 13 median including curb & gutter and pavement removal, storm sewer removal, street lighting and pull box removal as well as new street lighting, conduit and concrete based, median restoration and paving. The anticipated substantial completion date is September 13, 2024 and final completion date is September 27, 2024. No proposal will be accepted unless accompanied by a certified check or bid bond equal to at least 5% of the amount bid, payable to the owner as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the proper contract and bond within 15 days after the award of the contract. The certified check or bid bond will be returned to the bidder as soon as the contract is signed, and if after 15 days the bidder shall fail to do so, the certified check or bid bond shall be forfeited to the owner as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw their bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The minimum wages to be paid on the project shall be in accordance with the wage rate scale established by local wage rates.
