Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Richmond, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
Design and fabrication of a Monolithic Precast Box Culvert Design, fabricate and deliver Monolithic Precast Box Culverts for project sites in Carroll, Pulaski and Roanoke counties per the solicitation specifications and sketches. From date of receipt of Purchase Order through June 15, 2024 (nonrenewable) Box Culvert Design: The culvert shall be designed for HL-93 loading in accordance with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specification, 8th Edition, 2017; and VDOT Modifications. The reinforcing steel shall be the CRR Low Carbon/Chromium Reinforcing Steels conforming to ASTM A1035/A1035M in accordance with IIM-S&B-81.10. All design calculations (including all applicable code checks) shall be according to Load and Resistance Factor Design. Box Culvert design calculations and shop fabrication drawings for the box culvert shall be approved by the Engineer prior to fabrication and delivery to site. Load rating of the "as-designed" box culvert shall be in accordance with the VDOT Structure and Bridge Division Instructional and Informational Memorandum IIM-S&B-86 using LRFR method and AASHTOWare software and be approved by the Engineer prior to delivery to site. Provide .xml file to Bridge Office in accordance with IIMS&B-86. Design calculations, as-designed load rating, and shop drawings for the box culvert shall be accomplished under the hand and seal of a Professional Engineer registered to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. All shop drawings for the box culvert shall be signed and sealed by a Professional Engineer registered to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia Materials: All materials and construction shall conform to the requirements of the 2020 Virginia Department of Transportation Road and Bridge Specifications: Sec. 214 - Hydraulic Cement, Sec. 215 - Hydraulic Cement Concrete Admixtures, Sec. 217 - Hydraulic Cement Concrete, Sec. 218.03(d) - Steel Reinforcement, Sec. 406 - Reinforcing Steel, Sec. 405, 2016 VDOT Road and Bridge Standards pertaining to the construction of precast concrete box culvert structures. Monolithic Precast Box Culvert Requirements: o Shall meet VDOT Precast Concrete Products QC & QA program. o The double barrel box culverts shall be built monolithic. o All box culverts shall be delivered with precast grade beams, cost to be included in the line-item pricing. o Structures may be delivered as each is ready. o The fabricator/vendor shall provide OSHA approved lifting apparatus for handling the precast components from the crane hook down during the unloading procedure. VDOT will provide on-site mobile crane services for unloading purposes. o Placement of boxes shall be performed by VDOT o Top of precast box sections to be waterproofed per VDOT Specifications o Box culvert sections shall not weigh more than 25 Tons. o Wing walls shall come with precast grade beams designed to set at an equal elevation as box culvert grade beams. Bid price shall include design, "as-designed" load rating, .xml files, furnishing and correcting shop drawings for fabrication of structure, furnishing structure noted above, shipment/delivery to the job site and all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete the work A Pre-Bid conference will not be held for this solicitation
