This project consists of renovation of an existing 25-yard five lane practice firing range located in the basement level of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department building. The Project consists of the following separate contracts: General Construction Work (also includes asbestos abatement) and Mechanical Work (also includes electrical work). General Construction Work includes removing and disposing of outdated equipment and worn materials, abatement of ACM fireproofing from steel beams, application of new fireproofing on the beams, providing two new AR-500 steel baffles and a side-deflection baffle, providing ballistic-acoustical materials on the ceiling, baffles, and walls, refurbishing a side door, providing a self-healing rubber sheet and rubber block in front of the existing bullet trap, and providing a new 5-lane target retriever system. Mechanical Work includes removing and disposing of some HVAC equipment, ducting, and lighting, providing a new makeup air unit, exhaust fan, filter housing, associated ductwork, hangers, supports, and appurtenances, providing system controls, providing power to the renovated HVAC system and retrieval targeting system, and providing new LED lighting. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. The Owner/Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids for failure to comply with the requirements of the Contract Documents but may, at its discretion, waive any informalities or irregularities. The Owner/Town further reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to award a contract which, in its judgment, is in the best interest of the Owner. No bidder may withdraw his/her/its bid within ninety (90) days after the opening thereof, without forfeiting the bid security, but may withdraw same at any time prior to the opening thereof. Bidder must sign the statement of non-collusion in accordance with Chapter 751 of the Laws of the State of New York.
