Renovation of an educational facility in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Work of the Project is defined by the following Project Description herein below and by the Contract Documents. The project is the painting of the dormitory rooms, utility closets, and corridors on the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th floors of the Coed Residence Hall. The following elements are included in the project: 1. Prep, prime & paint all surfaces as indicated on plan and specs. 2. Provide protection for all surfaces as required. 3. Paint existing sprinkler piping & surface mounted conduit to match wall. convectors, sprinkler heads & pipe covers are to remain unpainted and to be protected from painting. 4. Existing bulletin board to be painted to match wall. all other signage to remain & to be painted around. 5. Prior to painting doors & frames all surfaces requiring repainting to be cleaned. contractor to remove all loose and flaking and sand surface smooth as required to receive new paint. No telegraphing of lines, ridges, flakes, etc. through new painting is permitted. When this occurs, contractor shall be required to sand smooth and re-finish until surface meets with architect's approval. 6. Prior to painting, the headers of all existing closets to be secured to the walls & ceiling using angle brackets. provide additional shims & blocking as required. apply spackle /putty to fill all voids. 7. Prior to painting, contractor to remove all wall base. sand, patch and repair as needed to remove any remnant adhesive or line from wall base. fit will be responsible for installation of new wall base upon substantial completion of painting. 8. Contractor responsible for moving all furniture into the middle of each room and provide protection for furniture. Contractor will be responsible for general resetting of the furniture after project completion. No furniture is to be moved out of the room. No furniture is to be stacked. 9. Contractor to patch & repair any damaged sheetrock prior to painting. 10. Remove existing window shades, store & reinstall after the substantial completion of the project. Questions shall be submitted in writing to the attention of Purchasing Department via email: purchasingbids@fitnyc.edu, no later than Thursday, April 25, 2024, on or before 3:00 P.M. A. Provide materials, labor, equipment and services to complete cutting and patching as specified herein and as indicated on the Drawings.
