Tuesday, May 7 2024 FIT to award contract to Carpeting Contractor The Kaufman Residence Hall is located at 406 West 31st Street, New York, NY. This project is the painting of the corridors and of the hotel style apartment suites each with its own bathroom. In addition to the painting there are various locations on each floor where the existing popcorn ceiling has been damaged and requires repair. Each of the locations are depicted in the drawings. Simultaneously, the Kaufman corridor cove base and corridor carpeting will be occurring. Painting contractor and flooring contractor must coordinate efforts. The flooring contractor will remove the base, however the painting contractor is responsible for creating a smooth painted area for the new base installation. Contractor is responsible for moving all furniture into the middle of the room and protecting it during the scope of work. During work, furniture must remain in the room. It may not be stored elsewhere. Upon completion of work, furniture must be returned to its general location, unstacked. Contractor to make all provisions to protect items and furniture attached to walls. No window frames are to be painted. Contractor to prep, prime and paint all surfaces indicated. Provide labor, materials, tests, tools, and equipment to complete the painting and ceiling repairs on the Kaufman Residence Hall. Contractor may begin procurement of materials after submittal and approval of shop drawings following award.
