CITY 2024 STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS The City of Cuba City, Wisconsin will receive separate sealed unit price bids for the following items as they relate to general grading, storm sewer, water main, sanitary sewer, curb and gutter, Hot Mixed Asphalt and misc. work in the City of Cuba City. FUNDING SOURCES: The City of Cuba City is the primary funding source . A portion of this project is financed through the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Local Road Improvement Program funds (under the Municipal Streets Improvement Program portion of the LRIP). CONTRACT # 1 - Underground Utilities, Excavation, Gravel - Work will include installation of approximately 650 lineal feet of 6" through 8" water main, fittings, valves, 1 hydrant, 150 lineal feet of 1" and 1-1/2" water service line, 5 service connections, 195 lineal feet of 4" sanitary sewer, 3 manhole adjustments, 102 lineal feet of 15" RCP storm sewer, 2 structures, excavation of approximately 650 lineal feet of existing streets, misc. excavation and fill for a restroom facility and misc. excavation for a driveway to the electric utility shed, 1650 tons of Road Gravel, 910 tons of Breaker Run and misc. items. CONTRACT # 2 - Curb and Gutter - Work will include furnishing and installation of approximately 1700 lineal feet of 30" curb and gutter, approximately 1400 square feet of 4" and 6" concrete flatwork and miscellaneous work. CONTRACT # 3 - Hot Mixed Asphalt - Work will include furnishing and placement of approximately 2700 square yards of 1-1/2" HMA binder course, approximately 2700 square yards of 1-1/2" HMA surface course, approximately 1600 square yards of 2" HMA binder course, approximately 1600 square yards of 2" HMA surface course and approximately 100 square yards of 2" driveways or equivalent patching. BIDDING FORMALITIES: The City of Cuba City reserves the right to waive formalities in bidding and to reject any and all bids. No bid shall be withdrawn without the consent of the Owner for a period of fortyfive days after the scheduled time of the bid opening. BID BOND: A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and a licensed surety company or a certified check payable to the City of Cuba City in an amount not less than 5% of the maximum bid, shall accompany each bid as a guarantee that, if the bid is accepted, the bidders will execute and file the proper contract and bonds within ten days after the award of the contract. WAGE RATES and STATUTES: The letting of the work described herein is subjected to the provisions of Section 66.0901 and 66.0903 of the Wisconsin Statutes. The minimum wage rates to be paid for the project shall be in accordance with Section 66.0903 of the Wisconsin Statutes. A Federal Wage Determinations (Davis Bacon) does NOT apply to this project. INSURANCE: Contractor shall carry Public Liability Insurance and Workmen's Compensation Insurance that is satisfactory to the Owner. CONTRACT SECURITY: The successful bidders for Contracts #1, #2 and #3 will be required to furnish a corporate performance bond and payment bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price.
