Risk Reduction is soliciting for quotes for mowing and other services for weed and nuisance abatement for 2024 and 2025. The City is authorized by ordinance to abate weed and nuisance violations on private property, and Risk Reduction utilizes private vendors to carry out abatement orders. All abatement costs are paid for by the City of Manhattan. Common abatement orders include mowing or cutting vegetation that is over twelve inches high and removal and disposal of items or accumulations located outdoors such as garbage, household furniture and appliances, discarded lumber, tree branches, and brush. Abatements may also include snow and ice removal from sidewalks. This Agreement shall take effect immediately upon its execution and terminate on December 31, 2025. The City reserves the right to select the bidder that best suits the abatement task, taking into consideration the lowest bids for each task and the specified maximum time for abatement. In no case will bids be accepted if the maximum time for abatement is greater than five (5) calendar days. The contractor may bid any or all items on the Quotation Form. Priority may be given to vendors bidding the entire task list. If selected, a contractor shall enter into an On-Call Services Agreement with the City in substantially the same form as the sample provided in this packet.
