Site work and paving for a civil project in Rosman, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.

The project generally consists of the following: o Construct approx. 850LF of 8-inch PVC and DIP water main to isolate and bypass a section of exposed water main in the bed of French Broad River. o Isolate and abandon exposed section of water main in the bed of French Broad River. A provision is made to use Line Stop to isolate the water main; however, the Town believes the water main can be isolated so that Line Stop is not needed. Therefore, Line Stop will not be utilized and paid if this is the case. o Construct approx. 120LF of 10-inch HDPE pipe by horizontal directional bore beneath a small gulley on the south side of French Broad River. o Install and maintain robust erosion and sedimentation prevention devices to protect French Broad River, which is designated Trout Water in this section. DESIGN-BUILD COMPONENT The Town of Rosman intends to construct a 6-foot wide pedestrian bridge over French Broad River. Alternate bids will be taken for an 8-foot wide and a 10-foot wide bridge in case budget allows. o Construct a truss-type weathering steel pedestrian bridge, approx. 165' in length, across French Broad River. o Bridge deck surface shall be concrete with a medium-fine brushed finish. o Bridge shall include integral pipe support infrastructure for the installation of an 8-inch DIP water main on the north side and a 3-inch DIP sewer force main (future) on the south side. The exterior of the 8-inch water main shall be sleeved in PVC-clad insulation. o Construct field-cast, reinforced concrete foundations for setting and mounting the pedestrian bridge. o Construct steel girder-type landing/access ramps with hand rails, approx. 75' in length, to join at grade on the west end of the bridge and approx. 30' in length to join at grade on the east end.
