Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a cashiers check, certified check or Bid Bond of a sum no less than Five percent (5%) of the Bid total as a guarantee that, if awarded the Contract, the Bidder will promptly enter into a contract with the Owner and execute such bonds as may be required. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and shall be countersigned by a person who is contracted with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company or issuer, and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State, and who is residing in this State, in an amount equal to the 100% of the contract amount in accordance with Article 5 of the General Conditions. In addition, the successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Labor and Material Payment Bond for the Contract in accordance with Article 5 of the General Conditions. A corporate resolution authorizing a representative of the corporation to sign the bid must accompany the bid, if the bidder is a corporation. Such activities will be in accordance with Title 38 of the Louisiana Revised Statues. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of Act 111 of 1983. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Question Deadline 04/26/2024 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to ENGINEER in writing. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by ENGINEER in response to such questions will be issued by Addenda mailed or delivered to all parties recorded by ENGINEER as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than ten days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Only questions answered by Addenda will be binding. Oral and other interpretations or clarifications will be without legal effect.
