The Project includes the following Work: The WEST END LINEAR DUNE FEATURE PROJECT (PROJECT) consists of constructing three (3) driveway ramps across three (3) separate existing public beach access driveway entrances located along Bienville Boulevard. The streets to be ramped higher in elevation include Saint Stephens Street, Sam Houston Street and Sehoy Street. Construction of ramps include furnished and placed embankment fill consisting of clean sand that will be capped with limestone base aggregate material. All locations will include timber posts placed at uniform spacing to delineate vehicular drivable aggregate area. Portions of constructed embankments outside of aggregate roadway areas shall be vegetated with sea oat plugs. One location includes construction of a required gravity block retaining wall so that existing utilities can be maintained. Each street ramp location shall be bid Lump Sum. Cashier's checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to "Moffatt & Nichol.". All bidders must comply with requirements of the Contractor's Licensing Law of the State of Alabama and be certified for the type of work on which the proposal is submitted. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. All Bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license in the Bid. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 60 days after the opening thereof. All bidders must comply with the President's Executive Order Number 11246 which prohibits discrimination in employment regarding race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.
