The work includes demolition, roofing, masonry, MEP, and glass/glazing work. o Franklin Elementary School, 16 Franklin Street, Melrose, MA 02176 o Melrose High School, 360 Lynn Fells Parkway, Melrose, MA 02176 Each general bid and sub-bid shall be on a form provided by the Awarding Authority and accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of five (5) percent of the amount of the bid. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Melrose. Bid Bonds shall be: A) in a form satisfactory to the Awarding Authority, B) with a surety company qualified to do business in the Commonwealth and, C) conditioned upon the faithful performance by the principal of the agreements contained in the bid. A Performance and Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Awarding Authority in the amount of 100% of the contract and from a surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required of the successful bidder. The Contract will be awarded, if at all, within 30 days, Saturdays, Sundays, and Legal Holidays excluded, after the opening of General Bids. Attention is also called to the fact that MBE/WBE participation goals may be required and part of this project.
