This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial goods and commercial services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 12405B24R0010 and is issued as a request for proposal (RFP). The NAICS code is 238220 - Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors. This solicitation document incorporates those provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2024-03. The USDA-ARS-SEA, Vegetable Research Unit in Charleston, SC. has a requirement for services to repair Chiller #2 and return it to service. The work includes but is not limited to: Provide all labor, supervision, equipment, and materials required to repair Chiller #2 and return it to service; as per attached Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor shall provide a detailed proposal and cost breakdown for the entire project. Any proposals not meeting the specifications as referenced in the SOW, will not be considered. Contractor shall recover and preserve the remaining refrigerant from Chiller #2, replace crossover isolation valve and gasket (per specifications as new), test chiller for any leaks, reinstall existing recovered refrigerant and additional R134-A to full operating level, pull vacuum on system to make sure moisture has been removed from system, test chiller for leaks and normal operation, and finally, place chiller #2 back into service and notify LPOC of completed work.
