Project Description: The winter storms during February 2019 caused an embankment failure immediately below an existing retaining wall on Marshall Petaluma Road MP8.24. Work will generally include the installation a rip rap buttress along the slope starting from the bottom of the existing wall to the toe of slope of the creek. The width of the buttress will be approximately 75 feet wide. The existing voids along the slope will be filled with native soil and planted with willows and other native plants. The exposed concrete piers will be filled with grout. Construction for this project shall ONLY occur between June 15 and October 15 unless granted approval from the County. Nesting bird survey is required if work is to occur between February 15 to August 31. Coordination with the County will be required for nesting bird survey. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $350,000. Bids are required for the entire work described herein. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class "A" License at time of bid submittal. Questions concerning the Bid should be submitted via online portal no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Inquiries or questions based on alleged patent ambiguity of the plans, specifications or estimate must be communicated as a bidder inquiry prior to bid opening. To bid on this Project, the Bidder and all subcontractors are required to be registered as a public works contractor with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to the Labor Code. The Bidder's and all subcontractors' registration must remain active throughout the term of the Contract. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. Award of contract, if awarded, will be to the lowest responsible bidder whose proposal complies with prescribed requirements, and will be within thirty (30) days after receipt of proposals. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. At the successful Contractor's option, securities may be substituted for the required retention, in accordance with the provisions of Section 22300 of the State of California Public Contract Code. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Sections 7201 and 9203, the County of Marin shall retain 5 percent of the contract price until final completion and acceptance of the project.
