Construction Demolition Material and Debris Processing Services Introduction. The County of Kaua'i has limited available airspace for refuse at the current Kekaha Municipal Solid Waste Landfill and is in critical need of reduction and diversion of waste to increase the longevity of the site until a new landfill can be sited. Currently 23.7% of the waste brought to the Kekaha Landfill is considered Construction Demolition material along with other inert materials. As reduction and diversion is a viable strategy for inert construction demolition materials across the United States, the County of Kaua'i is requesting proposals for permittable and proven methods and technology for these processes. A bid bond in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the amount of the price offered is required for this Request for Proposals. The Director of Finance reserves the right to cancel this Request for Proposal or to reject any or all offers in whole or in part if deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
