Estimated Amount for Solicitation: $2,270,778.00 This project would divert a portion stormwater runoff from Little Bear Creek through a diversion channel into the quarry pit where the water would slowly recharge the Edwards Aquifer and help maintain flow at Barton Springs. WBE 1.71% MBE/WBE PROCUREMENT PROGRAM All City procurements are subject to the City's Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Procurement Program found at Chapter 2-9-A of the City Code, as amended. The Program provides Minority-Owned and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MBEs/WBEs) or Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) full opportunity to participate in all City contracts. Goals for MBE/WBE or DBE participation are stated for each solicitation. Information on achieving the goals or documenting good faith efforts to achieve the goals are contained in the MBE/WBE Procurement Program Package or DBE Procurement Program Package attached to the solicitation. When goals are established, Bidders are required to complete and return the MBE/WBE or DBE Compliance Plan with their Bid. If a Compliance Plan is not submitted prior to the date and time set forth in the solicitation, the Bid will not be accepted for consideration. (See Section 00820 for MBE/WBE requirements on "no goal" solicitations.) CONTRACT TIME Contract Time is of the essence and all Work shall be substantially completed within one hundred and eighty (180) Calendar Days after date specified in the Notice to Proceed, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. Final completion shall be achieved within twenty (20) Calendar Days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages are five hundred and forty dollars ($540) per Calendar Day for failure to substantially complete the work and two hundred and seventy dollars ($270) per Calendar Day for failure to achieve final completion within twenty (20) Calendar Days after substantial completion, in accordance with the Bid Form, Section 00300. The Work consists of constructing a 450 LF diversion channel and 200 LF rock riprap ramp off Little Bear Creek to divert stream flow into an existing quarry pit where the stored volume will recharge into the Edwards Aquifer. The diversion channel construction will consist of excavating approximately 30,000 CY of rock and soil, placing approximately 6,400 CY of riprap (D50=36") generated and salvaged onsite from the channel excavation, and building a 200LF rock riprap ramp. No offsite hauling will be allowed and all excavated material will be used onsite to construct the rock riprap ramp, linear berms, and stockpiles on the bottom of the existing quarry. Other project components consist of excavation of a 175ft wide overflow notch, 560 LF of gravel road reconstruction, concrete access road crossing, and cutting and capping an existing water well.
