Scope of Services The Project includes all streets milled at 1 1/2 inch and resurfaced and with 1 1/2 asphalt overlay of SM 9.5A or equivalent surface asphalt on the city streets listed below. Milling materials retained by contractor. Replacement of existing pavement markings to be invoiced separately. The work shall be done in accordance with VDOT Road and Bridge Standards. Work is to be completed by June 30,2024. Industrial Drive o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from Sunnyside Road 2,685 feet northward to end of pavement. o Approximately 2,685 feet in Length and 30 feet in width o Overlay with 1 1/2 of SM 12.5 D Industrial Drive o Grade the gravel surface at the end of existing pavement 340 feet in length and 24 feet in width and add stone if needed. o Overlay with 2 inches of SM 12.5 D. West Atlantic Street o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from Interstate 95 Exit Ramp to eastward to stop sign. o Approximately 1066 Feet in Length and 50 feet in width o Overlay with 1 1/2 inches of SM 12.5 D o Replace all pavement markers with thermoplastic Center Street o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from High Street Intersection to Hicksford Avenue o Approximately 450 feet in length and 30 feet in width. o Overlay with 1 1/2 inches of SM9.5 A Dominion Drive o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from Market Drive to end of Street. o Approximately 900 feet in length and 27 feet in width. o Overlay with 1 1/2 of SM 12.5 D o Replace existing pavement markers with thermoplastic Brunswick Avenue o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from South Main Street to Bridge. o Approximately 4,492 feet in length and 33 feet in width. o Overlay with 1 1/2 of SM 12.5 o Replace existing pavement markers in thermoplastic. Jefferson Street o Mill existing pavement 1 1/2 from South Main Street to West Ave o Approximately 2,760 feet in length and 25 feet in width. o Overlay with 1 1/2 of SM 12.5 D All adjustments for fuel prices shall be factored into the proposal. The City will not pay any VDOT FUEL ADJUSTMENTS to the quote submitted in your proposal. The City of Emporia reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids or any part thereof. Bid Bond Requirements: Bidders shall submit a bid bond equal to 5% of the bid amount with their proposal. Bidders may submit a certified check, cash escrow, personal bond, property bond, or bank letter of credit equal to 5% of the bid amount, in lieu of a bid bond. Payment and Performance Bond Requirements: If awarded the contract, the contractor shall submit both a payment bond and a performance bond equal to the sum of the contract amount.
