The Contractor will provide pipe testing, repairs, and insulation to Building 2, Units 1 and 8 Crawlspace for OPWDD
Sunmount DDSOO. The Contractor will provide all labor and materials necessary to complete the work in a
professional manner according to scope of work. Work is to be completed within 30 days of award, unless modified
below. This is a NYS Public Works project and prevailing wages are to be paid and Certified Payrolls must be submitted
at time of completion. Site must be cleaned, and all materials secured at the end of each workday. Absolutely no
scraps, especially fasteners, are to be left unsecured. Upon completion of crawlspace pipe testing, repairs, and
insulation, and before the removal of equipment, the Contractor is to schedule a quality control and quality assurance
inspection with Plant Superintendent or their representative. includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following
1. Perform hydrostatic testing on all mechanical system piping in the crawlspace area and identify any and all points of failure.
2. Perform testing on plumbing system (domestic water and drainage) piping in the crawlspace and identify any and all points of failure.
3. Make repairs, as necessary to all mechanical and plumbing piping, fittings, valves, etc. deemed faulty during testing procedure(s).
4. There shall be no hot work performed in the building. All connections shall be copper Propress or threaded fittings, as appropriate. Dielectric fittings are to be used where the possibility of galvanic series corrosion exists.
5. Any inactive and/or abandoned piping, fittings, valves, etc. are to be removed and properly disposed of off site, at the expense of the contractor.
6. Any and all materials removed as part of the work being performed are to be properly dispose of, off site, at the expense of the contractor.
7. Upon completion of repairs, all mechanical system piping and all DHW piping shall be insulated.
8. All work shall be performed in accordance with any and all applicable NYS Code requirements.
9. This is an occupied facility. It is necessary that plumbing systems remain functional throughout the project.
10. EPDM floor covering throughout the crawlspace is to be protected at all times while work is being performed. Any penetration of EPDM floor covering is to be reported IMMEDIATELY to the appropriate Maintenance Supervisor and all work is to CEASE until appropriate repairs can be made.
