As of June 12, 2024, project was awarded to Kelly Asphalt Maintenance, awarded amount is $72,465.65. This specification covers the repair of sludge drying beds at the City of Norwich WWTP located at 129 Portelli Drive. The City would like to repair 5 out of the 15 drying beds. We plan on repairing beds numbered 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9, subject to change. Each bed is a 50ft by 50ft area, covered with 4 inches deep of asphalt. Drainage stone, 3 feet deep, lies below the asphalt used as the base. The top of the finished asphalt layer lies 15" below the top of the concrete walls surrounding each bed. Interested Contractors are welcome to come visit the sludge drying beds anytime between 7am and 3pm M-F at the WWTP if interested. In general, the Contractor shall remove all existing asphalt, regrade stone surface and fill in low spots as necessary to make flat and ready for new asphalt, and then add 4 inches of new binder asphalt per the attached specification. Stone will be paid for on a unit price basis. New asphalt cost will be labor only. The contractor is responsible for selecting the asphalt supplier, setting up delivery, and managing all aspects of the asphalt delivery and placement, but the asphalt material cost will be billed direct to the City by the plant. The Contractor shall carry the cost of the asphalt material cost in the bid to be paid direct to the asphalt supplier.
