The Portage la Prairie Regional Landfill Authority Inc. is seeking proposals for the completion of Phase 1 and 2 of the Leachate Management Plan and a ground and surface water testing for the Portage la Prairie Regional Landfill site for 2023 and 2024. The Portage la Prairie Regional Landfill accepts residential and commercial wastes at a rate of approximately 16,000 tonnes per year and septic sludge at a rate of 14,000 tonnes per year. The site operates as a Class 1 Waste Disposal Ground under Licence 3278 and Licence 1356R and is located at SW 22-13-5 WPM. The site is composed of 3 cells, a retention pond and 4 septic lagoons. The landfill was commissioned in 1991 and is expected to reach capacity in 2025 under current licence.
