Renovation of an educational facility in Santa Clarita, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The project generally consists of the construction of: Preparation, priming and finish painting of all exterior surfaces as shown in bid documents, Appendix D. Repair wood trim as required. To bid on this Project, the Bidder is required to possess one or more of the following State of California Contractor Licenses: A, B or C-33 Each bidder is solely responsible for timely submission of its bid; the District is not responsible for any technological issues in a bidder's ability to timely submit its bid or portion thereof. Any bid that is submitted after this time shall be nonresponsive. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors shall pay all workers on the Project not less than the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for holiday and overtime work as determined by the Director of the Department of Industrial Relations, State of California, for the type of work performed and the locality in which the work is to be performed within the boundaries of the District, pursuant to sections 1770 et seq. of the California Labor Code. Prevailing wage rates are on file with the District and are available to any interested party on request or at online Bidders and Bidders' subcontractors shall comply with the registration and qualification requirements pursuant to sections 1725.5 and 1771.1 of the California Labor Code. No prequalification is required to be eligible to submit a bid for this project. Final Questions Due by: Thursday, May 9, 2024, 9:00 AM Each bid must be submitted on the bid form provided in the bid documents and accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and surety company, or certified check, or cashier's check in favor of the Saugus Union School District or cash, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. Bidders must deposit the original of the Bid Bond, cashier's check, or certifies check in the mail on the same day as the bid opening. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a 100% Performance Bond and a 100% Payment Bond if it is awarded the contract for the Project. The successful Bidder may substitute securities for any monies withheld by the District to ensure performance under the Contract, in accordance with the provisions of section 22300 of the Public Contract Code The District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any irregularities or informalities in any bids or in the bidding. This project includes, without limitation, furnishing all necessary labor, materials, equipment and other incidental and appurtenant work necessary to satisfactorily complete the work. The work will be performed in strict conformance with the contract documents, permits from regulatory agencies with jurisdiction and applicable regulations, and includes exterior painting at Rosedell Elementary School and all related work in accordance with the bid documents. In general, work includes, but not limited to: 1. Buildings to be painted area as follows: A,B,C,D,F,G 2. Restroom building R 3. FACP Storage Building S 4. The child care building (CDP) is to be painted 5. Paint Portables 0, and 3 6. Paint large gates at front of the school to match fencing (Black Rustoleum or similar) 7. Preparation, complete priming and finish painting (2 coats minimum) of all exterior surfaces 8. Repair wood trim as required 9. All surfaces that are to be painted are to be pressure washed prior to start of preparation 10. All stucco, including the soffits cracks and holes are to be patched, repaired and painted 11. All wood, not limited to beams, facia and trim, is to be patched, infilled and repaired or replaced as required 12. All dry rot is to be repaired and / or replaced prior to painting 13. Metal Shade shelter behind Building A 14. Repair and caulk the wood facia 15. All metal trim, downspouts, etc. are to be painted 16. The Lunch Shelters are to painted 17. The metal/ storage containers are to be painted 18. The exterior doors and window frames are to be painted on all sides 19. Paint door swing arcs on the floor outside of all exterior doors 20. Protect in place the existing signage, including the exterior signage 21. Exterior building numbers / letters are to be painted black 22. Do not pressure was doors with electronic door locks. 23. Work in and around Main Office to start 7/1/24 and shall be completed by 7/12/24. Please see Special Conditions, Item 5 Liquidated Damages, Milestone No. 1.
