Reference Number 0000349533 The Town of Beekman, hereinafter called the Owner, is soliciting bids from qualified contractors for construction of the Swim Pond Stone Weir Improvements located on the Fishkill Creek at Beekman Recreation Park. The project is located at 29 Recreation Center Road, Poughquag, NY, and is identified as tax ID: 6759-00-340095. The parcel consists of the Town of Beekman Recreation Park, including baseball fields, swim pond, miniature golf, and community center. Since the 1970s the Town has been diverting water from the Fishkill Creek into their swim pond. This diversion has been installed and removed on a seasonal basis and required the Town obtain a stream disturbance permit. The work shall generally include the removal of the temporary stone weir on the Fishkill Creek and construction of the new permanent weir along with stepped scour holes using flat stones, riprap, and general fill. The work will also include the installation of an upstream temporary cofferdam, excavation dewatering, bypass pumping as needed, stabilization and seeding of the disturbed areas, and general site cleanup as shown on the drawings and specifications. The contractor shall maintain a clean flow of water to the swim pond inlet through September 2, 2024, at which point the swim pond will close for the season. The clarity of the water entering the swim pond is regulated by the NYSDOH; therefore, continued flow of clean water to the swim pond inlet is critical.
